Sometimes, we say or do something so excitedly that someone notices it and they start calling us by that name. Then other people catch that and the name gets repeated over and over again until it somehow gets stuck with us as it becomes our nickname.

Many nicknames are given due to silly reasons. For example, recently author Erin Somers shared that her sister’s college friend’s nickname was ‘Burgers’ because “one time he talked about grilling burgers too enthusiastically”.
