Everything changes over time – people, places, and even your favorite breed of pupper! And if you’re not convinced, today we have a collection of “then and now” photos of some popular dog breeds that show just how much they’ve changed over the last 100 years.

Turns out that many dog breeds underwent pretty significant changes over the years. Just take the bull terrier, a breed recognized for its distinctive skull shape and bulky physique, for example – it used to be much taller and leaner, and its distinctive skull shape was nowhere to be seen. #1 Pug

Back in the day, pugs had longer legs and their faces weren’t as flat as they are today. Sadly, due to the fact that their faces had become flatter, nowadays a lot of pugs suffer from breathing problems.

#2 Bull Terrier

Bull terriers used to be much taller and skinnier, and have become shorter and more muscular over time. The shape of their heads have also become much more distinctive.
